The italian sculpture is an excellent option to illuminate and decorate insides and outsides . One example of this are the amazing wooden sculptures created by the venetian artist
Loris Marazzi who inspired by his
sensibility and daily thing sculpts conceptual and funtional
artworks.
But as a nice and remarkable alternative Marazzi starting from the most common objects sculpts his wonderful clothes line in wood
(sexy underwear,
shoes, hats,
bags, jackets…). Loris creates copies in wood such realistic to be quite surrealistic .
You can easily find his wood art sculptures hanging on the wall at the homes of his clients in the USA, Australia,
Holland,
England,
Germany,
Japan, Mexico or Canada, indeed also exhibited in many museum and galleries of the world .
Meeting this italian sculptor and seeing his wonderful sculptures was however the best experience of my
visit. Look for

In Venice, the city of bridges, churches and squares, in which art, history and culture are ever present, taking a walk is always a joy. Going to the more popular places like San Marco Square, Rialto Bridge …etc are indeed exciting
experiences. However visiting the galleries and even shopping for art in Venice is also a
delight.
Meeting the talented wood sculptor Loris Marazzi and seeing his wonderful sculptures was however the best experience of my
visit.
The posters showing a washing line with clothes carved in wood and other with a human
brain supported by two
hands, also carved in wood, were on every wall around the city. It is not difficult to find a
jacket, a pair of
jeans, a shirt or a
raincoat all of them carved from wood at the homes of his clients in the USA, Australia,
Holland, England, Germany, Japan, Mexico and Canada. Indeed also displayed in many museums and galleries of the world.
Marazzi also sculpts conceptual pieces they are so perfect and living that you can easily get confused looking into the window of his
gallery.
Loris spent his spent his adolescence sculpting, subsequently more than 20 years of artistic maturity and experience make him recognized by people who love art and by the International press such as
The New York Times and The Washington
Post.
If you visit Venice I suggest you to visit The Loris Marazzi Gallery in
front of the Peggy
Guggenheim Museum 369 Dorsoduro. You can also check his web site: www.lorismarazzi.com where his fantastic art sculptures in wood are displayed for sale.

To meet
Loris
Marazzi, the venetian artist who sculpts the incredible clothes line in wood was the best experience of my visit to Venice.
In his little gallery situated away from the bustle of the city in front
of the Peggy Guggenheim Museum 369 Dorsoduro I found mr.
Marazzi sculpting from a piece of wood a
"Raincoat" one of his most sold wooden sculptures specially to american and
english clients. A
sexy underwear in wood such as a
bra ,
pair of
panties, and
socks… are also displayed
in
his gallery.
This wood art sculptor starts from the most common objects -
underpants,
shoes,
hats,
jackets…etc to creates copies in wood such realistic to be quite
surrealistic.
Marazzi`s knoledge in sculpture is innate and wide, he never studied at The Fine Art Institute, and he not only sculpts in wood, he also sculpts in marble and bronze choosing wood as the most suitable material to express his emotions.
Marazzi, the venetian woodworker, also carves conceptual sculptures like a brain suuported by two hands entitled
"My Mind My
Force" which simbolizes the power of mind and which is one of his more famous artworks.
Is not difficult to find a wood art sculpture from his
clothes line hanging on the wall at the homes of his clients in The USA, Australia, Holland, England, Germany, Japan, Mexico or Canada, indeed also exhibited in many museums and galleries of the world.
Ask for directions his postres are in every wall around the city for this go and marvel at the artistry, be charmed by the man, enjoy the smell of wood, and take home a heirloom of the future.

"Loris
Marazzi. A wonderful artist who works in wood, Marazzi's amazing carvings are now all over the world, and the shyly intense and really rather gorgeous man himself will show you the snapshots to prove it.
He gives wood a marvelous liquidity in some works, like his abstract Dali-esque
Reality... and then creates everyday items of clothing, draped raincoats and
jackets that look terrific on a wall or door and
bowties you can really wear.
He will carve something to order such as the bed he carved for an american couple as a
vast, cupped human hand.
Go and marvel at the artistry, be charmed by the man, enjoy the smell of
wood, and buy your family a heirloom of the future. Daily (he is always working).

Loris Marazzi was born in Venice and started sculpting in his
adolescence. He has worked for years in both marble and wood, choosing the latter as the most suitable material to express his
creativity.
He collaborated, at the very young age of 15, with a sculptor, then he continued on his own to express, without external
influences, everything that his soul wish to communicate.
During years of solitude and rich and strong experiences of life, he has been able to enrich his knowledge in
sculpture, making him unique.
He held an important exhibition in New York in 1994, in Soho, and has collaborated with great artists like
Kassogi, Mario Valentino, Bruno Magli and many others. |

His name is Loris and despite his simplicity and his appearence of a common young italian man, he is an outstanding wood
sculptor!
If you're passing through S. Margherita square you could see him through the glasses of his
gallery, sculpting a
jacket or a couple of shoes from parts of a tree. Not so bad as a nice and "strange" alternative to the usual pubs located in the trendiest place of the city!
"Happiness" is the name of one of his best known
sculptures. It's a painting, fully covered with paper (both obviously made of
wood) to put on the wall and stare at, thinking about the beautiful things this painting could
represent, things everybody would love to see on the wall of their home.
In other words, those things that represent our "happiness".
Then, there's the "Clothes Line", the most appreciated creation by his american
clients:
shoes,
glass,
jackets,
coats, underwear, ties, hats, raincoats and so on. A full wardrobe in wood to put on the wall or in a particular place of the house, joking with art in furnishing
one's own living space and deceive our host's look, surely enthusiastic once he recognizes what this piece
is: a fine artwork.
Prices of these artworks aren't surely for everybody, but anyone should have the pleasure to admire such beautiful
sculptures.
So, we strongly suggest you to search out his gallery and talk with him about his
artworks: you will find a man incredibly passionate about his work.
Pay him a visit, you won't regret it! |

Venetian
wood
sculptor
While exploring the streets and hidden wonders of Venice I came across posters showing the art works of the wood sculptor Loris
Marazzi. Being a lover of
"All things
wood" I decided to search out his art gallery in the front
of the Peggy Guggenheim Museum 369 Dorsoduro.
I found his art studio
situated, away from the bustle of Venice city
itself, in this lovely quiet scenic square and although
small, behind this rather insignificant
façade, I found a wonderful display of sculptures by this truly amazing Venetian wood
carver.
In the window of his small Art studio were Shoes; a
handbag; a bra, pair of
socks and panties on a line; a
doctors bag; a
hat and scarf all made of wood……………. I had to go inside.
Unfortunately he was just
closing, as he was leaving to do an Art Exhibition ……………… but he would be back at the Marazzi art gallery
tomorrow.
My appetite
wetted, I had to go back and see inside his Art studio and meet this wonderful wood
sculptor.
So the following day I
returned.
Stepping into this treasure trove I was greeted by Loris
Marazzi, a young handsome Venetian
Sculptor. He was at his bench working on "
The Shirt with
Hanger" and a brand new sculpture "a Basque". As we entered his enthusiasm for his craft and works was clearly
apparent.
"The Shirt with
Hanger" enthralled me but I could not afford it ……could I?
Before returning to England I had to buy myself a present in
wood, a wood carving by this wonderful Venetian
Sculptor. So after much deliberation I chose his sensitive
umbrella, which symbolised to me the Romance of
Venice.
I left happy. I
relaxed, celebrating my purchase of this wood
carving, with a drink in the late afternoon sun in this quiet Venetian
square.
But that night I could not sleep for the thought of the "The Shirt with
Hanger".
I was leaving the next lunchtime to return to England .
I could not leave without it. So early morning I rushed over to the front
of the Peggy Guggenheim Museum 369 Dorsoduro.
Would he be open? ........... Could I really afford
it? ....................................
It is now three years
later. "The
shirt" hangs in my entrance hall with the
umbrella. plus also now a lovely
hat.
Loris's master piece "The Open
Book", with a personalised plaque in brass
(which Loris did specially for me) sits at the foot of my spiral stairs and half way up is his sculpture "Rope on a
finger". Both true examples of the best in Modern Art from this talented Venetian wood
sculptor.
Every visitor to my home enthrals over these wonderful wood
sculptures. His works of art will move
anyone. The life that is in each of his works of art is a demonstration of this young wood
sculptor's skill and talent.
Thank you Loris for creating these
pieces. Seeing these works of art every day gives me the greatest
pleasure, and they will continue to be a talking point for every guest to my home.
